It's worse before it gets better!!

Mom and I are going to pick up our "NEW" Quilting machine and frame.  We are getting a Handi Quilter Fusion and studio frame.  In order to get the machine to fit in the basement we had to rearrange 3 rooms.  Now it is getting close to our yearly we need to organize this mess so we can work better adventure, so it just came a month early.
We started by having to rip the quilting out of a King size quilt mom had started on the  Bailey machine because the backing messed up. We spent last week doing that so we would be able to take the frame down and start the rotation. We have now worked for 3 days straight on moving things around to get them to all work together. We had to move the cutting tables into the quilting room, the sewing tables into the cutting room and the new quilting machine will go into the sewing room.  This also included moving a 6 foot table from my house since the set up we have at mom's for my sewing machine wasn't going to work in the in set up.  There for awhile yesterday it seems all we were doing was moving one pile to another.  Last night before I headed home it seemed like we were making progress in the right direction. Just Keep Swimming!! Just Keep Swimming!!

As we have been going though things we have found lots of quilts that still need quilted so we won't lack for things to practice/finish with the new machine.  I'm looking forward to getting the new machine.  I used it several month ago to finish up some projects.  It was very nice.

One advantage to this rearrangement is "The Cool Little Dude" (CLD) (my almost 4 year old son) will have his own desk!  Now just to get his machine working.. He was telling a friend the other day that he would sew more if his machine worked.

As we have been moving stuff around somethings we have been looking has shown up. Like my dad's sleeping bag.  But the bag of fabric I bought for a Block of the Month still has not been found.

We are also going to do two of the mystery quilts this holiday season totally from scraps. As both mom and I sew there we have gathered LOTS of Scraps, because you just can't throw away any fabric.  I will try and take some before and after pictures.  We have started making beds from the scraps, that would be hard to use in a project, for the dogs at the local no-kill shelter.

Well I'm off to work on a PIG before I have to pick up the CLD from school.

Happy Quilting!!!
